Retro Cars Holden History

Who is not familiar with Holden car?.  great car coming into the country since 1960 is indeed including retro car that has a long history. He looked handsome and muscular retro cars tend to resemble the style of American Muscle Car, a car is never shortage of fans in Indonesia.

In 1885 working with horse-drawn carriage maker named Henry Adolf Frost formed the famous company named “Holden and Frost”  In 1910, Holden & Frost tried messing-ngatik motor vehicles and in 1914 for the first time try to make the car body for the pair with the car frame branded “Lancia”. The experiment was a success and eventually Holden & Frost received an order from a company big enough car “Dodge” which ironically will be the main rival
n 1917, during the First World War that involved almost all industries in the UK, Australian government has done to the U.S. embargo by prohibiting all kinds of full import of motor vehicles


These conditions, as well as the difficulty of storage of imported goods, causing the vehicle frame is very dibatasi.Kebutuhan imports will continue to increase in motor vehicle caused the vehicle agents who had been using the order import, begin to look for local companies to produce the following frame body.

In 1919, Edward Wheeldon register Holden “Holden’s Motor Body Builders” as a specialized company engaged in manufacturing motor vehicle body.
Initially, the company built bodies for Overland, Chevrolet, Durant, Hupmobile and Dodge. The company is developing very fast, four years after the first product, has been able to produce more than 12,000 bodies per year.

In 1924 “Holden’s Motor Body Builders’ Australia became the only manufacturer of vehicle body, created on orders of General Motors. With a total production capacity of more than 22,000 body (more than 11,000 body made for GM).

In 1928, George Rayner Hoff design a symbol that will be used for all production of production vehicles from Holden’s Motor Body Builders, the form of “lion and stone” that symbolizes the legend of the man who created the wheel. This symbol has lasted until now though has several times experienced improvements.
